O ator Giacomo Gianniotti, de "Anatomia de Grey", está em Itália a ajudar as vítimas do sismo como voluntário.

O doutor Andrew De Luca da famosa série de Shonda Rimes nasceu em Itália, mas vive há muitos anos nos EUA, mas fez questão de se deslocar a Amatrice como voluntário da associação All Hands Volunteers para ajudar no terreno os conterrâneos que sofreram com a catástrofe que abalou o centro de Itália e provocou, confirmados até ao momento, 290 mortos.

World. My apologies for not commenting or posting sooner. I was too busy organizing how I was going to help. Yesterday a massive earthquake hit central Italy devastating many communities. There was a whole in my schedule and I took it. Day 1 - Myself and two others from the Immediate Assessment team of @allhandsvolunteers visited #Amatrice . It was terrible to see the immense damage done to this beautiful village. It was very sad for us to witness what we walked into. However we were all thoroughly impressed with the work of the national response efforts, and at the moment they have all their bases covered. At least for now. Tomorrow we set out to visit the other towns affected by the earthquake to see if they are in need of our assistance in any way. Day 2 - we visited #Accumoli #arquatadeltronto #pescaradeltronto and #norcia . There was a lot of damage to Accumoli, Arquata and Pescara, and they have all been evacuated and people have been accounted for. They are now in the stage of clearing the rubble. They informed us they are fully capable at the moment and have registered italian volunteers standing by should they need the extra man power. We spoke all day of how incredible the organization of resources and manpower was in all the cities. Lastly we visited #Norcia, They have been untouched by the disaster and are urging people to come back and visit all they have to offer. Tomorrow we visit #Rieti , the new centre of information for the disaster. At the moment our efforts and that of other major organizations are not needed but we want to get info for all of you who want to contribute, so that we make sure your money is going to the right place serving the right people. Today we met with Massimo la Pietra of the "Protezione Civile" in Rieti. He welcomed us into his headquarters and introduced us to his staff and operation. He informed us that the response has been overwhelming and that they have more than enough resources to cover all towns affected by the disaster. We exchanged information and made sure they were aware of our abilities should they need us in the future. Lets hope not! He informed us that if you are in Italy to text the number 45500 to send a donation directly to the Protezione Civile or if you are outside of Italy to go the the @crocerossaitaliana , (Italian Red Cross), website as they are currently leading the response and it is where your money will do the most work at the moment. For now we return to Rome to regroup and assess. Whatever you have to give please do! These people have lost everything. Some of them, their lives. Ci ha accolto nella sua sede e ci ha presentato il suo staff. Ci ha informato che la risposta è stata travolgente e che hanno più di risorse sufficienti a coprire tutte le città colpite dal disastro . Ci siamo scambiati informazioni e fatto in modo che fossero a conoscenza delle nostre capacità, se dovrebbero aver bisogno in futuro . Speriamo di no ! Li ci ha informato che se sei in Italia di mandare un SMS a il numero 45500 per inviare una donazione direttamente alla Protezione Civile o se sei al di fuori d'Italia di andare alla la @crocerossaitaliana , ( Croce Rossa Italiana ) , sito in quanto sono attualmente in testa alla risposta ed è dove il vostro denaro farà il maggior parte del lavoro in questo momento . Per ora torniamo a Roma per riorganizzarsi e valutare . Qualunque cosa potette dare, apprezzerebbero molto ! Queste persone hanno perso tutto . Alcuni di loro, la vita...Grazie.
